Home Remedy for Diabetes #2 – Cinnamon

Cinnamon not only tastes great, it’s a very effective and fast-acting natural diabetes treatment. In the last 10-12 years there have been some significant studies done on the benefits of cinnamon for treating type II diabetes. The most notable was published in the Diabetes Care journal back in 2003…
They took sixty people with type 2 diabetes and had them take either 1, 3, or 6 grams of cinnamon in capsule form every day (an amount equivalent to 1/3 of a teaspoon up to one teaspoon). Amazingly, after just 40 days all 3 groups reduced their fasting blood glucose levels by 18 to 29%, their triglyceride levels by 23 to 30%, their LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) by 7 to 27%, and their total cholesterol was reduced by 12 to 26%!
In another study they took 79 adult-onset diabetics and gave them either a placebo or 3 grams of cinnamon three times a day for four months. Researchers reported that there was a big reduction in blood glucose levels in the people who took the cinnamon compared to no reduction in the placebo group.

Cinnamon works so well as a natural diabetes treatment because it softens the cell membranes, boosts the immune system, and most importantly, mimics the action of insulin to regulate blood sugar. It helps enormously with both type I and type II diabetes, and over time, can help to reduce synthetic insulin and drug dependency among sufferers.

Natural Diabetes Treatment – Best Way's to Get Your Cinnamon…
You can easily buy Ceylon cinnamon powder (the best form) in bulk from most health food retailers or online… and it’s very cheap! Take a teaspoon of cinnamon 3 times daily with or without meals and use it in your cooking whenever you can. You can also make up a delicious cinnamon and ginger tea for an extra daily supply if you wish (ginger is also very good for treating diabetes). Do keep in mind though that cinnamon can thin the blood so if you’re taking any anti-clotting medication (Warfarin) or if you suffer from bleeding disorders, be sure to check with your health care professional first.
